AAA-Fund Endorses Mark Takano for Congress
WASHINGTON, DC – The Asian American Action Fund today endorsed Mark Takano for United States Congress. Takano is running for Congress in California’s newly created congressional district 41 against Riverside County Supervisor John Tavaglione, a Republican. Congressional District 41 includes Riverside, Jurupa Valley, Moreno Valley, and Perris.
“Mark Takano is a public school teacher who cares deeply about the economic and physical health of his community,” said Gautam Dutta, Executive Director of the AAA-Fund. “He is a proven leader and we are proud to endorse him for United States Congress.”
Born and raised in Riverside, Takano is a life-long educator who has spent his career educating youth and encouraging them to succeed. As President of the Riverside Community College District’s Board of Trustees, he helped the Board and the District gain stability and direction amid serious fiscal challenges.
Takano is a member of the Association of California Asian American Trustees and the Asian Pacific Americans in Higher Education. Previously, he served on the board of the Chancellor’s Asian Pacific Islander Community Advisory Center at the University of California, Riverside and is the former chairman of the Asian Pacific Islander Caucus of the California Democratic Party.

The AAA-Fund is a Democratic political action committee whose goal is to increase the voice of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders on every level of local, state and federal government in America. To achieve this goal, we address the chronic under-representation of Asian Pacific Americans (APAs) as campaign volunteers, campaign contributors, and candidates for political office.
