The campaign has really picked up over the last week. This past Tuesday, Sam held a town hall meeting in the Boston community of Mattapan, which has a predominant Black community. There is a video on YouTube right now showing Sam at the town hall being confronted, questioned, and disputed by the current Mayor’s Chief of Staff about Boston’s elderly commission.

On Wednesday and Friday, I went all across the great city of Boston to post 4X8 Sam Yoon for Mayor signs. During both days, I was stunned to hear intently about the stories of people living in communities of color. From their stories, I was downright upset and angered at the inequities that existed TO THIS DAY in the schools and in the small businesses of these communities of color. Even though the country is changing with new leadership and new ideas, these inequities still existed.
In addition to my journey through the streets of Boston, I saw the ugly side of politics as both Sam’s signs and Michael Flaherty 4X8 signs (Mr. Flaherty is the other mayoral candidate along with incumbent mayor Thomas Menino) in different parts of Boston were vandalized while the incumbent mayor’s signs nearby were not damaged. I will not speculate on who was responsible, but it is too coincidental that the other candidates running for mayor have their signs vandalized while the incumbent mayor’s signs were not. The incumbent mayor’s people claimed that their signs have been vandalized too, but where’s the picture to prove it.

(On a side note, I personally replaced the vandalized Sam Yoon sign with another one.)
On a much lighter note, I have posted the videos of Sam Yoon playing a jazz piece on the piano as well as a passionate speech he gave about how the people of Boston cannot wait for change to happen.
