39 members of the famed Japanese-American 442nd Regimental Combat Team and the 1st Battalion of the Texas 141st Infantry — the “Lost Battalion” of World War II — reunited earlier this month in Houston for an event held by the National Japanese American Memorial Foundation. The event, held more than 65 years after the fateful day when the 442nd rescued 211 survivors of the 1st Battalion from Nazi attack, attracted luminaries such as Secretary Norm Mineta, Speaker Jim Wright, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Mullen. With the veterans approaching or past 90 years old, this may be their final reunion.

I’ve never heard of the National Japanese American Memorial Foundation. Sounds interesting. Thanks for the link.
