Sandra VuLe is in an exciting race in HD 112 (below). In a race with no incumbent, VuLe is running against Angie Chen Button, who survived a brutal Republican primary. No matter who wins, there will be an Asian American female state representative in Austin for the first time since Martha Wong sullied the halls of the Capitol. Thankfully, Ellen Cohen put a stop to that.

WFAA, ABC’s Dallas-Fort Worth affiliate, has a good profile on the race. You should watch it. The quote from her opponent, “She’s a liberal immigration lawyer,” is priceless. I’ve rarely seen such praise coming from an opponent.

Sandra, in her own words:

If Sandra wins, she will be the first Vietnamese American woman ever elected to a state legislature. She will represent Richardson and Garland, which are between Dallas and Plano.
