Tindall & Foster and Quan, Burdette & Perez are merging to form Foster Quan. With 65 lawyers, the firm will be a distant second to the country’s behemoth immigration law firm, Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Lowy, which has over 250 attorneys.
What does that have to do with Asian Americans or politics? The “Quan” above is Gordon Quan, one of the most successful Asian American politicians Texas has ever seen. He almost ran for TX-22 in 2006, but stepped aside after party pressure on Lampson’s behalf. Many around Houston were hoping to see Quan run for another office in the Houston area, be it mayor, Harris County Judge, or anything that would send him to Austin or Washington.
